I needed a shed to store shop tools, a router table, a band saw, drill press, etc. I looked on the internet but gave up after a small amount of searching, convinced that most sheds were not going to work.I needed a shed I could walk into without bumping my head, it had to be 60" to 66" deep and ideally 10 feet wide. I could not find one online. I initially designed a shed in 3D CAD. I was going to construct it out of 2x4's and plywood. After a few hours of designing and then adding up the initial cost of all the wood (~$500+), I realized that I was also going to spend a month of weekends building, then painting and then it would eventually rot and fall apart. I went back online and discovered shedsforlessdirect.com. I found this shed, the Duramax 8x5.5. Not 10 feet wide but that is one criteria I had to give up on. It comes with a floor frame kit (a must have for me as I was putting this on a concrete slab, and a nice window on the side and a FREE shelf!) for $639 delivered I could not go wrong! I read some of the reviews about building it and I was a little apprehensive but I am a mechanical engineer who designs machines for a living so I thought I could "fix" any issues that arose. My 14 year old son and I had this basically erected in 2 hours. It took another 1.5 hours to put the roof and side panels on and the finishing touches. Another hour and the 3/4" plywood floor was in (that includes cutting the plywood, sanding the edges, soaking all surfaces with Thomsons waterseal and then screwing it down to the metal floor frame). The instructions are VERY CLEAR and EASY to follow... The Duramax engineers did a great job on the instruction manual.... I have authored many assembly manuals for machines and I know how much time it takes to get it simple and correct... If you follow the instructions this is EASY to build. It is also very sturdy with the plywood floor. I am very pleased with my shedsforless.com experience and I say if you are on the fence about this shed you should go for it! You will save a lot of time and $ over building one from scratch. I plan to install custom shelving as I find the shelves they offer are too expensive for what they are and they do not suit my needs. The only issue I have with the shed is the door handles. They are a plastic that I am afraid would not hold up to the sun. The latch is kind of a joke and that will probably be the first thing to go. I will probably build my own wood handles, coat them in polyurethane and then they will last longer and look pretty cool!
