Delivery of product took a bit longer than expected but the actual delivery was outstanding. Two bundles which we unpacked in about two hours organizing parts as we went keeping construction in mind as to what would be needed first. Inventoried parts the next day. Found a few items missing and lots of hardware shortchanged. Handy Home replaced missing items quickly and suggested I buy the missing hardware and they would reimburse me. This process went flawless. I bought some extra 2x4's to replace the twisted ones and they reimbursed me for that as well. Outstanding customer service. I give customer service 6 stars!! Construction: I am just about ready to shingle the roof so the main build is just about done other than installing the doors, trim and cupola. First, this is not a do it yourself project if you have no experience. It requires a solid understanding of construction principles for this to go together right. Several times I had to steer off course from the book and apply my own set of knowledge and skills with building things. Lifting of the walls was easier with two people and installing the rafters too. During the process I discovered one of the rafter 2x4's were cut 1" too short. This would have made for a wavy roof in one spot. So I had to do quite a bit to repair that. Gable assembly in the book is useless so I did not use the book at all for this. In fact, the 2x4's for the panel seams dd not even fit right between the rafter and doubler. Lots of creativity needed for this part of construction. I had lots of big gaps in the roof panels. I spent about 3 hours or so the next day cutting filler strips. This may not have been necessary but I did not want to take a chance of my shingles sagging. Much easier to deal with at this time. I also took the time to cut some gaps in the roof panel ends for expansion. I found they needed to go together tight to line up the rafter spacing properly. Cutting the gaps later was easy with the right tool, a Fein detail sander with a round trim blade. Had this done in less than a half hour. I have not started the shingling yet but this part requires a solid understanding of roofing principles to do a roof that will last years trouble free. Window installs are extremely easy. Overall, I am extremely happy with how things are looking and is going up pretty fast. I will be putting in electrical and doing quite a bit of interior finishing plus adding a loft. I did install this barn on two layers of pressure treated 2x4's on top of a concrete pad. I did two layers of 2x4 to get added height. A 6' plus person can walk inside without hitting their head but this will require some extra work on the doors to make up for that bottom gap. My plan is to initially use this barn for a motorcycle shop or a workshop later on down the road. This barn will serve either of those well.
